At last it's done. Whew! A collective sigh of relief goes up at
TG Intergalactic Headquarters. We've finished all aspects of the
new CD. The artwork, the music...it's all ready for final production
and manufacture and eventual release on August 28. The new record
is called REPRISE. It consists of several of my old tunes from
the 80's and 90's. Stuff that's been rattling around at radio stations
for the past 18 years or so.Tunes that might be familiar to you
but you may have had no idea that they were mine. So now at long
last, they are re-emerging with a new sound, a new look, a fresh
approach. This record features new AND old members of Tom Grant
Bands down thru the years. Most notably, we get to hear guitarist
Dan Balmer make his unique statements on a couple of these classics.
Long time saxophonist with TG ensembles Patrick Lamb is also prominent
on this CD. One of my favorite Hammond Organists anywhere on the
globe is Portland's Louis Pain and he plays on three of these cuts.
Louis is extremely musical so he fits in very well with Patrick
and Dan. Bassist and long time collaborator Phil Baker plays on
several of these cuts as does another very talented bassist, David
Captein. The incredible young drummer Reinhardt Melz is heard on
two of these cuts and he is fantastic.
